Frozen in Time Festival 28 – 30 December 2018
Enjoy free family fun at Collingwood’s Frozen in Time Festival, downtown Collingwood’s annual Ice Sculpture Celebration. New feature this year is Rogers Hometown Hockey!
The world-reknowned ice sculptors will also be doing special carving sessions as well as the highly entertaining ice carvers showdown at the Battle of the Chainsaws on Saturday and Sunday. The best way to see all the sculptures? Take a family wagon ride, which starts at 11am on Saturday and Sunday.
Returning to the Festival is a 40-foot long double ice slide that will take riders on a memorable ride right beside Town Hall. New this year is a free skate and celebrity sledgehockey game on Friday from 5-8pm in the arena.
The featured event at the festival this year is Rogers Hometown Hockey, right in the heart of downtown Collingwood on December 29-30. Taking over Hurontario Street between 2nd and 3rd, the event will provide visitors and residents a unique opportunity to experience this extravaganza. Only 25 communities across all of Canada are playing host to Hometown Hockey this year.
This free, family-friendly weekend hockey celebration will include live local entertainment, NHL alumni, a full sized ball hockey rink, local celebrities and lots more hockey-themed activities for all ages. Join Ron MacLean and Tara Slone LIVE on Hurontario Street on Sunday afternoon, December 30th for their live broadcast as they tell the stories that celebrate the hockey history and culture that put Collingwood on Canada’s hockey map, and stick around to catch the Vegas Golden Knights take on the Arizona Coyotes.
